    Day-to-Day janitorial duties

What would you add to to your day to day duties ?

    Disposing trash
    Vacuuming and mopping common walkways
    Sweeping debris
    Cleaning and dusting desktops
Maintaining bathrooms (e.g. mopping floors, scrubbing the sinks and stalls, replenishing consumables)

It all depends on the client, but I've had requests for some of the following...

    Load and start dish washer
Polish brass or other metal pieces around the office
Bring in mail or FedEx from weekend drop box
    Clean door knobs light switches
    Arrange magazines in office lobby
I always push in all chairs

Obviously you get some weird ones that come by once and a while, but that's all I can think of for everyday stuff.

    Re: Day-to-Day janitorial duties

    I would add... 1 - 2 times a month.

For the exterior @ entry doors, take a blower and clean off the area near the entrance before it gets tracked inside the building.

There is no replacement for the air blower. Instant clean results.

You mentioned pushing all chairs in daily. I would also add to that statement and say every week or every other week wipe down the bottom of chairs if applicable.

This is a quality check point that I follow at our accounts. Pay attention for the chairs, especially the office chairs that have caster legs. You will be amazed as to how bad they can get.

Also include/offer 1 - 2 times a year cleaning the ceiling lighting to get the bugs out.

While your working on that ladder clean near the vents and air intakes that get overlooked.

    That's my 2 cents this minute.... =o)

We wipe down the bottom of chairs once a week. We do the ceiling vents once a month, We dust anything over 6 feet once a month.
    We don't do lighting fix.
