Been wearing Brown Oxfords from Rockports for 3 years now. Get them from Zappos, largest shoe store on the web. Always buy two pair and rotate them every day. The great thing about Zappos, no shipping charge and if they don't fit or satisfy you, they have you print out a return label on your computer and then they send UPS to pick them up. Great service, Zappo.com

The only shoes that I found that work for me are from Payless the are no slip water proff vinyl shoes that will not mark any carpets or floors. Normally I buy good shoes but I found most better shoes will leave dye marks on carpets( when you spot dye and carpets are damp from chems and when you clean stairs and your toes rub againt the riser. It seems I where them out every 2 months. Befor I would use sneekers and replace them every month it seems that the carpet chems made the seems were fast.
    Good Luck

I would not wear lace-up shoes of any kind as I change my shoes before entering clients premised, change back for trips to the van. Outdoor shoes remain as such.

This involves a lot of shoe-changing in the course of a job so both indoor and outdoor shoes need to be 'slip-ons'.

For cleaning I wear 'deck shoes' (intended for yachting) because of the slip resistant soles.

New clients are always impressed by the shoe-changing and the fact that I install a barrier mat just inside the entrance I am going to be using but the real reason is that a damp carpet is effectively a cleaning cloth, ready to remove any soiling from footwear.

I bought a pair of those black restaurant style shoes to wear once, and while they WERE slip resistant, they made me feel like I should have tape on my glasses and forty patches on my shirt.

And, a Shawn Forsythe armory on my belt.

Would it not be easier to just use shoe covers? Maybe even the re-usable type like the checkmate guy wears?

    Best Carpet Cleaning Shoes???

If your like me you have gone thru some decent shoes thru the years. So I was wondering is there a really good shoe that holds up well to the rigors of carpet cleaning?
It would need to give good support, not be too heavy or bulky and would have to retain its good looks despite oversparay of various chemicals.
So any shoe fit this description out there?

I wear plain white sole shoes so no chance of colour transfer.
Also i have plastic booties (operating theatre plastic boots) available from suppliers to pull over my shoes when i need to walk on just cleaned carpet. I also pull these on when i enter any house to do a quotation it really impresses the customer.
If a customer has to walk on the just cleaned carpet and has approached over the sprayed up and not yet cleaned carpet, I ask them to wipe their feet on a section of cleaned carpet. This removes soap residue from their feet/shoes and eliminates any early resoiling. I then re clean the area they wiped their feet.

Do you skate Tre? I thought I was the only skateboarder/carpet cleaner around.

I were Adio or DVS most of the time. Sometime Converse Chuck Taylors
