Most of these pics are "low cost" runners. It's time to evolve! If you spend good money on any piece of your clothing, the shoes is most important, especially for working. I picked up Rockport "water talkers" or similar name cant remember exactly, but they are designed for water resistance, they have a light, anti slip tread, heavy duty leather with rubber edging. they cost about $200 and I dont regret it. Its been six months working full time in them and they are barely broken in. If you buy a $50 pair of shoes they will last you less than three months in this job!

I wear these as part of my uniform:

Add in kaki pants and a red polo and you get the idea.

They are LL Bean Weatherproof Mocs. (Waterproof really but they can't say it because one piece is not "water tight"...whatever)

Comfortable, great tread for traction, hold out water and prespray, and look like casual dress shoes.

Customers always ask me "are those special shoes for carpet cleaning?" I just smile and say "well, kind of".

I purchased a pair of shoes to work in, same name brand as i have previously used and was horrified by what i actually walked into a premises i was about to clean.
Unbeknown to me, i had actually purchased a tennis shoe, the ribbing on the sole was much finer (to stop tennis players slipping) but it also filled with fine soiling which is then tracked into the house.
Nice comfortable shoe but not practical

I wear Nike but also have a pair of shoes for crews. If you worry about slipping shoes 4 crews is the best, they even carry rubber boots with no slip soles

watch out for the skatebaord shoes - the seude type is usually dyed and will transfer to the carpet if not careful.

Lately I've been wearing old school Converse All Stars (black high tops). They are so ugly, but I love em.

    Shoes for carpet cleaning

    Hello

I have tried all types, best I have found so far are from a company called 'ecco' - a sneaker with gore-tex lining to prevent the hot steam wetting your socks!!! Must look smart and not as though you have just returned from climbing a mountain.
Any ideas, brands would be useful.

I buy Rockport Waterproof running shoes. They cost $200 and last about a year as a working shoe for carpet cleaning. Im on my second pair now and its the best I've found yet for support and protection.

I always found If I buy cheaper shoes they only last a few months.

Its important to have a comfortable shoe with not too much tread.

    Merrell- Radius Gore-Tex $110

They have remained in great shape for 4 years as my primary cleaning show., They are still waterproof, have an aggressive sole (in case you need to do a little foot agitation ) and are good on comfort.

Frankly, the only shoe I would recommend for CC.
