Just Introducing Myself

[Owner FOSC]

Greetings,

This is my first ever post to any forum of any type. Just not something I was ever interested in doing - until now.

It's a pretty impressive and professional bunch of folks on this forum. I've looked at others and was pretty disgusted. I've already found a ton of useful information here, and hope to share a bit myself. Turns out I've already had some contact with a few people here.

My name is Greg and my wife is Shirley. I am a retired US Air Force Master Sergeant, and Shirley is a Master Myotherapist and Licensed Massage Therapist. We started Fowler On Site Cleaners in southern Arizona about 2 1/2 years ago (what were we thinking? - I'm now 53 and she is 52). We're strictly owner/operator and worked as a husband/wife team on every job until recently, as I got more proficient and can do more alone. We got set up by George Fowler in Mt Vernon, WA (Shirley's cousin). He had extra equipment so we got a great package. We're working with a Boxxer 427 in a 2006 Chevy Express 3500, with a Rotovac Powerwand, Evolution wand, and all the other assorted tools.

Because we live in a remote area we're about 1 hr from the bulk of our work. Took a while to take off but it's doing pretty well now. We're doing residential carpet, upholstery, T&G, etc and only have a couple small commercial jobs to date. We are an IICRC certified firm, and I have CCT and SMT so far. I think our carpet prices are at the higher end of what I see here, but probably lower on T&G.

I guess that's about it. I want to keep this strictly introductory. I expect to pose a couple questions a little later (mostly in the Hard Surface forum) and I'll try to keep them very focused. Thanks in advance for your responses.
