      Need advice

      Hi Guys

I have a hydramaster CDS 4.7 around 7 years old we had two new heat exchangers installed at $2500 each about 7 months ago one of them is already leaking we took it back to our supplier and they said sorry no warranty so we need to come up with another $2500 as they said they do not weld them this is really annoying me, I at least thought there would be a warranty even 12 mths but no I have 4 other CDS`s and the heat exchangers in them have lasted well over 6 years never a problem.

      Q. What advice can you guys give me as I do not want to burn my relationship with our supplier but when things like this happen I feel ripped off.

If your supplier was cool they would at least hook you up with a heat exchanger at cost if they value your business.

I rarely do business w/ locals cuz I get better products online at less cost.

If your supplier is a prick about it just never do business w/ them again and start getting your goods online.

You can call Johns Custom Machine heat exchangers in florida. He told me he has about an 80% success rate repairing truckmount heat exchangers at a cost of about 400 bucks.

If all else fails perhaps bypass the heat exchanger and install a Little Giant propane heater with frame mount tank.

      One more thing,

If your current heat exchanger is beyond repair Johns Custom Machine can build you a new one from scratch for less than $2500.

Thanks for the replies guys we never get that cold here as we live in Australia sunny Queensland even our winters are warm.

I have to pay for it as they will not service my other 4 cds`s if I refuse to pay, they are playing hard ball and when the dust settles than I will too. We have decided to sell all our hydramaster truckmounts and change to a better supplier once this is done than of to court we go this is all I can do. I am amazed that these so called suppliers treat us like this I can not name who they as of yet until we resolve this issue.

      Angry Update

Well they finally fixed it and than gave me another invoice for $2989.00 which we have decided not to pay and now we will have to front up to court to find out where we stand.

I can not believe this suppliers attitude they call themselves Carpet Cleaners Warehouse based in Brisbane Australia they are the distributors for Hydramaster and treat everyone as a ATM machine I will be writing a formal complaint to Hydramster themselves in the USA about how dissapointed we are which I am sure it will get us absolutley nowhere.
