Thread: 421 chemical pump

Bought used. Guy said it works.

It does not.

At first, it would purge but do deliver.

So I took the pump off and checked the valves. I dont really know what I am doing so..

It seemd as though these things can get gumed up and stick. They were not stuck.

so I took the meter off and took all of the brass fitting apart and acid washed em. I did NOT use any sealant to re-assemble. I did put some teflon tape on the brass and fittings at the meter but no where else.

Now it wont even purge. I am assuming the issue may be sealant/air leak.

I hope you get it worked out but if for some reason you dont Ive got a new pulse pump just gathering dust for sale. I think I paid $300 for it . Ill let it go for $200. Ive also got a used brass pulse pump ill let go for $75.

have you tried priming it
1. turning it upside down so it gravety feed and pooring a jug of water down it
2. force feeding it with hose pipe
3. sucking on the outlet end

I found two cracks in the 'meter' so I am guessing there is a leak.

I think the pump is in good shape though.
