Hi one and all - me again :AddEmoticons08047:
One of the truckmounts that we're considering is the new Boxer 318 from Hydramaster. Anyone have any thoughts or recent experiences with this powerful yet compact machine?
Cheers

I would spent the extra $ and get the 421. The 318 has a #3 blower which I find is only good for up to 100ft of hose.

Its a solid small tm. Well built machine with good heat.
I think that even with a #3 blower you'll be fine running 200 feet of hose, but yeah if you have the money definitely look at the 421.

Hmmm interesting comments, many thanks Rob and Rich. I was told that the unit can do the business upto 300feet of hose dependant upon application. It does have the smaller blower than some I've seen for the same money and the service intervals are more frequent too. Comes down to, on this unit, the support offered by the company - which I have to say is excellent.
Seems I'm gonna have to decide what's most important with these units - be it superb aftersales care or the most suitable blower, etc.....
Ultimately we're really just looking in the main to do hard floors, but, should the occasion/request arise then we'll obviously do the carpets too.
Thank you again for your comments and interest - I've recently, by the way, been looking at details of 'The Masters Touch' machines... What say you? Anyone using these?

PS - we're actually starting to come close now to buying a unit!!lol!

Like Rob and Rich say go with the 421.

I have the 318 and I absolutely love it. I used a portable for several years (mostly commercial apartments.) So maybe its just the truckmount I love compared to the porty. Since I knew nothing about TMS the 318 sounded good to me for the price. It gets the water hot and is very simple to operate. Hell, even I can run it! Have'nt ran over 200 ft. of hose yet but I am confident that it can handle it. Wish I would have gotten a bigger waste tank though (it came with a 50 gallon). But all in all I love my Boxxer 318.

Thank you both Frank and Michael for your comments, will keep you posted as to what we finally purchase!

Either is a solid choice. But as some have said go bigger. The differece in money is not that much compared to the power difference. It will probably suffice at first, but later you will probably regret not having the extra power imho.
Rob Allen.

Hey Rob,
again appreciate the words of wisdom!
In absolute honesty the outstanding TM so far, though I've yet to see it in the flesh, is the El Diablo by Masterblend - seems to have the size there and capability to cope with some growth as the business hopefully grows. Maybe saving a few £s or $s in the long run.
Still got to see a couple more yet though....

Look at the new Prochem Legend, Great maching for the $$

the Boxxer 421 would be the better choice with more vacumm, you won't be angry with the payment when you see the results

I have been considering the 421 and the prochem legend. After reading post, I am leaning toward the boxer 421, even if, more money than the legend.

I looked at the Boxxer and the 421. I did research on both but settled on the El Diablo. The El Diablo was a less expensive machine and the heat is amazing!! They cllaim I can run up to 650' of hose and still get a great clean. I can tell you the heat is amazing! There is no problem maintaining 240 degrees with a single wand. I bought mine from A&R Supply in New Mexico and they ship all over for a very reasonable rate.

i love my boxer 318 too and it have plenty of vacuum i did use 250 feet of vac hoses a few times and it was still delivering great suction... i think either way 318 or 421 great machines they both have good power
