Question Cooling Down Hydramaster Truck Mounts

After you finish cleaning carpets or whatever you use your truck mount for, what is your step-by-step process to cool down a Hydramaster truck mount?

    I run a CDS 4.7
When i am finished for the day, i turn off the heat at the machine. I have live feed solution hose. I had a quick connect male end fitted to a garden hose trigger spray. I use this to run water through the system when i start up to remove any air.
I also use the same to run the water through until its cool at the end of each day.

For the Boxxer 421, I turn the temp dial down towards zero degrees and let it idle while I roll up the hoses. This may not be the best way, but after several years using 421's, I haven't hurt anything.

I use the hydrmaster 427. When I am done with a job and my temp dial says the mount is still blazin at 240 degrees I immediatley turn the heat by pass switch to off and turn the temp dial down as low as it can go. To bleed the heat even faster keep your wand connected and hold down the trigger until the temp gauge is reading below 180 degrees. This will cool it down faster and it will be safe to shut the mount off safley without trapping to much heat.

Chris, thats the way I advise my customers to shut down their units. And Ryan, it does save time to run some water out of your wand. Some customers have me make an auxillary hose outlet so the can cool the machine down and also have water for other purposes.

Re: Cooling Down Hydramaster Truck Mounts

I throttle down at the end of last job, use adapter on hi pressure line to run water from heat exhanger and pump into my fresh water tank for a few minutes,, shut off machine, drain hot water from mix tank, while rolling up the hoses, mix chemicals for next day (if I have jobs scheduled) while the waters hot. turn the key to the on position (with out starting it) so mix starts to fill back up, (stopping at about half way so water doesn't slosh out while I'm driving) sometime turning the chemical flow up, so I have a strong mix for prespray the next day.
