Need a good mechanic

I have a 1997 4.7 hydramaster cds that i am looking to have taken out of one van and put into another. I need to find a good person who is capable of doing it without raping me on price. I am located in western ky and interlink supply wants 2500.00 minimum to do it. I thought this rather high since I was told it should only cost anywhere from $800.00 to $1200.00. If anyone has any suggestions or knows anyone close to my location please let me know. Thanks in advance.

You should ca,, Chris at the cleaners depot in Nashville. I send everyone to him. i thought he charges 1500 not sure. I use to dot he office depot in henderson, We still do the one in owensboro every sunday

A standard installation on a direct drive is on average $1500 or 20 hours labor rate + just to install! Now remember when you want to remove a CDS you are essentially doing basically a install twice. I think the rate you are being offered is a fair rate, remember also that you will need to get a specific drive shaft for your PTO if you are putting your equipment into a different year van. I dont understand why people think that in this industry you are being ripped off paying for somethng you cant do yourself. It isnt as easy as you would think it is not to mention I hope your van works after your un-install or better yet go into that distributor asking them for help once you have it done somewhere else! Some how that quote seems quite simple when they will be the ones having to deal with it after the fact!

for the additional money... do a road trip, bring it to All Machines in Cleveland Ohio..... take a mini vacation, see the rock and roll hall of fame, maybe a baseball game... and tell interlink to kiss you butt, Some people/companies are so greedy, they not only want to make a living off you, but expect you to pay for their retirement fund as well...
