Question Brushes needed to clean grout?

I notice some people scrub grout after they spray their cleaner and some don't.....

What are you methods for taking out all the dirt in grout?

Is it necessary to scrub grout after prespraying?

I believe one of the best cleans is a 'scrub-clean".

    Why? -------Mechanical action.

Aggitation of this sort will dislodge and and really clean poris grout much better than just pressure would do. And, without the liability as well. Liability in terms of testing its integrity by blowing out any particular loose grout. And, possible etching and/or streaking if the hard floor was waxed, etc.....

Then, clean water rinse using a lower psi.

(The above amoug a couple other important issues.)

    Anyways, that is my opinion.

I certainly agree with Ed on the need for agitation. Whether you need to scrub by a brush depends on the condtions - How soiled is the floor? What kind of soils? How well was the grout sealedm if at all?

For most one shot or restoration type jobs, I think scrubbing will be necessary. For accounts that are maintained on a regular basis, it may not be needed on each visit.
