Thread: Tile and grout $?

What are you guys charging for tile and grout cleaning? I have not done any cleaning in awhile and have raised my carpet cleaning prices since the last time I cleaned tile and grout. Does .35 sf for the cleaning and another .35 sf for sealing sound right? I gave the price over the phone to a regular customer that I have cleaned her carpets for 3 times in the past but after I hung up I thought I should of priced it higher.

Get what you can,I price it lower as the sqft goes up,but even at .70 you can do well.

I usually charge .90-1.25 sf for cleaning and .10 less for sealing.

we do not quote tile & grout cleaning over the phone because you never know what your up against, are there sealers? Waxes? is it natural or man made? do you need alks? or acids? maybe both? you just don't know for sure with out testing.

Definitely do not price over phone

Really should price job by job but to answer your question $1 sqr ft range for clean/seal but it depends on size of the job and a couple of other factors

I price @ $1.50sqft clean & seal with $250.00 minimum but tell the customer I always pre-qualify every job and the price can be more if there is stripping, heavy chemical treatments etc that I can't judge until I see the job first. I also charge an additional 15cents sqft for additional sealent above the normal two coats. I'm lucky around here not many tile & grout cleaning companies around here.

Why would you need to apply a third coat? 2 applications should be more than enough. If you need a third maybe you need to look into a new product or just color seal it.

I state the third coat as part of my business. In summer I do a lot of exterior concrete pavers, concrete,brick patios,driveways & walkways and after acid/chemical washing they do sometimes require a third coat if the customer wants that glossy shine, so it's just habit to tell customers about my mulitple coat price.
