    If your Hydra-Force stops working-

Ten possible problems that will prevent it drawing -By Scott W.

    1) The filter behind the QC where the water comes in gets plugged. Many folks don't even realize there is a filter there. So they never clean it. Should be cleaned every week or two for best performance.

    2) Stariner behind spray jet tip clogged. Another "hidden" filter.

    3) Spray tip changed to a smaller size or plugged with some powder, hard water deposits or whatever. Keep spray tip clean and replace every 6 months to a year.

    4) Air leak in the draw tube that goes down into the chemical. If it is drawing air, it won't draw chemical. That plastic will eventually crack or split. Also one of the cheapest parts to replace.

    5) Spring installed upside down after it was taken apart.

    6) Dema valve clogged or corroded and needs to be replaced. The most expensive repair.

    7) Breather hole plugged. Clean out.

    8) Water nozzle clogged. This is a relatively inexpensive repair. (Replace NA0807.)

    9) Metering tip clogged. Replace.

    10) Acorn stariner at the bottom of the draw tube plugged.

The upcoming "slow" season is a good time to become familiar with things like this.

Don't forget if the clean plastic o-ring inside breaks, thats underneath the ball and spring. If you get some high heat on that, it breaks pretty easily.

Thanks for the info Scott. That will definately help many!

Re: If your Hydra-Force stops working-

Is there anywhere you can find that spring besides hydroforce? I know it is a special spring, but I didn't know if it could be found at a local hardware supplier, or if it has a particular part number.

Re: If your Hydra-Force stops working-

The part number for the spring is NA1232. You probably won't find it at a hardware store. It is made with one end different than the other. You can pick it up from any Interlink store or order on-line at www.interlinksupply.com.

However, if you have it sent to you by on-line order, the computer automatically adds a shipping and handling fee to every order. That would be more than the spring. So if you don't need a case or two of other chemicals on the same order, get in touch with me by phone or email. I will get you the spring, drop it in a padded envelope and mail it myself. That will save the shipping cost.

Re: If your Hydra-Force stops working-

and if you still arent getting it to work....make sure the water temp isat least 10 degrees under the 180 mark with a thermometer that isnt the one on the machine...typically the durn thing quits working if its more than 180 degrees or so...plus or minues a little each way...i know i know...its too simple lol but it really is like that...thats one reason i like to use the garden hose and not the machine just to ensure that every thing is diagnosed and repaired correctly
