If the case is not perfectly clean of oil, bearing mount will not dry. Do you go furthur or go back and try to remove the bearings? When tools and presses are scares. Bearing mount is suppose to be dry.

is this for a blower? engine or cat pump. a little oil wont hurt the bearings on seating them in place. As there is no way to build up hydraulic pressure the break the casing. Unless the bearing is a bushing in a hole of the case then I would be concerned. If ya need info like right this second Ill be up until the wee hours

WAT?

I dunno what hes asking hes fixing a blower I think there is another posting about hp

Maybe alcohol is involved? Lol

if thats the case itll be posted too..lol

No, I was rebuilding an engine and the bearing mount never dried or cured propperly. It was a very agrevating ordeal. Without the bearing mount drying properly there is a chance the bearing will move or slip and could cover the oil holes or channels.

oh snap.. Thats not good. did the mount break or something? I thought you were rebuiling a blower they are a pain too. if the bearing has oil in it the damm thing wont seat right and you have to take the entire thing apart

Yeah, I thought I cleaned out the crank case real good too. Soap and water all that. There must have still been a film of oil because the permatex wont dry. At this point I dont know if I want to continue any further. I'm getting sick of it already. But I never surender to inanimate objects.
