    Exhaust Wrap

Is this difficult? . How do I install it? Do I need anything other than the wrap? like resin or special sauce? lol

There are stainless steel ties like the plastic zip ties. They usually come with the wrap when purchased. Simply start a full one time around wrap nice and tight and add zip tie. Then continue wrap similar to a baseball bat grip or hockey stick., overlapping halfway and tight. Add a zip tie equally spaced to the distance you need to travel divided by amount of zip ties you have. Save on for the end . Hope this helps, I hope it doesn't sound as winded as typing that seemed lol

What tm are you running again (prochem)? I wraped, and had my last exhaust ceramic coated... I really don't think the wrap or the coating helped with anything for me, and might have made things worse sooner.

    Thanks Shawn!

Able: I am running a PC legend. This is the first time I have heard that it doesn't work. A few people say it helped a lot. Wonder why it works for some and not others?

I run a legend, and wrapped my header pipe turned out to not be a good idea, heated the pipe up and fell apart bought a new one and thought maybe the pipe was just old and being foolish wrapped the new one long story short 2 new headers in 90 days my unit is an older model so I wrapped the exchanger and that has done well for it.

    Re: Exhaust Wrap

Tip of the day...because im sirius..lol...before you wrap your exhaust pipe...spray it with paint from the parts store...that is designed to be applied to the exhaust...not engine paint...flame proof...then spray the pipe....inside and out...then wrap your exhaust...i use a hose clamp to secure the end.....tightened in the direction i am winding in....when you finish use another clamp to secure the ending wraps...tightened in the direction of wrapping...then...flame proof the material again by painting....this is a special CERAMIC spray on paint from the auto parts store...apply the paint to soak the header wrap material....install seperate hose clamps if you want along the wrapped pipe...be sure and run it for a few minutes after you are done and untill it stops smoking. to cure the paint this has to be done...thats how ya do it to win.
i charge alot of money to wrap expaut pipes because you get all itchy....the painting method dosent work really well with the graphite type of wrap either...just use the plain stuff
