I have operated the Boxxer 421 for over 7 years now. It is plenty powerful and produces plenty of heat and vacuum. I get decent drying times with it and over all it has been a very decent machine. The main thing I have to say about it is that it has been reliable for me. I've had very few repairs in the last 7 years with very low maintenance cost. There are two parts on the Boxxer 421 that have caused me some problems, but both are not really expensive or difficult to replace. Those two parts are the thermal relief valve and the high pressure solenoid which is mounted on the recovery tank. You might want to keep a spare on hand of these two parts or put a new one on annually to avoid problems. If you are not already planning to do so be sure to get a water softener. Hydramaster can void your warranty if you don't use one and even if they didn't I would still highly recommend you get one. Hard water is the arch enemy of heat exchange truck mounts!!!!!!!!!! I think you will like the Boxxer 421 so don't be worried about it. There are lots of them out there with many satisfied users.

The only other truck mount I've owned that was powered by gas engine was the Century Avenger 210. I don't think they make it anymore. Mine was a lemon with frequent and multiple problems. I finally gave up on it after 3 years and sold it and bought my Boxxer. That was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

    Thanks Randy,

Yes I did get the water softner and I will get the extra parts to keep on hand. Appx. how much are they? Thanks for your input it puts my mind at ease. I have researched this for ever and came to the 421 because of reliability.

I get the 180 degree thermal relief valve from Jondon for about 50.00 and the high temp solenoid is about 150.00. Either of these two can be replaced fairly quickly especially the thermal relief valve. The high temp solenoid on the waste tank takes maybe 30 minutes or less and that is the harder of the two to replace. Here are the links to the parts I'm talking about. I've had to replace both of these several times in the last 7 years. They have been the main things that have caused me problems since I've had my machine.

    prochem legend

I have a prochem legend that is about 12 years old. I am the second owner and at 1200 hours the crankshaft warped and caused and oil leak which caused a fire in my trailer. I tried to fix it thinking it was something else and ran it to 2000 hours and found that warped crankshaft. I replaced the engine and it runs strong at 3000 hours now. It doesn't keep the heat like it should when I clean restaraunts and large open areas. I put alot of money in it with Jondon and other than the steady heat problem, it's a good machine. I'm going the amtex way this fall

1st. Steamway Powermatic sold after 4000 hrs on it....ok machine but kerosene was wasteful way to heat water. 2nd Steamaction Stealth with 7000 hrs most hrs running two wands.....needed allot of improvements.

I just sold my Performer 405 and I miss it already. I have to admit, you can't kill or beat that Nissan engine.

Re: Which Truckmounts Have YOU Purchased Over Your Lifetime of being in Business?

We use the Prowler by Amtex. it's a little dynamo and the Inferno by Amtex, it's the best. Considering the after purchase service by Ben, the owner of Amtex, the quality of the unit and the price, we will not use any other truck mounts.

Re: Which Truckmounts Have YOU Purchased Over Your Lifetime of being in Business?

Started with a White magic PRO 1700 junk from day 1 sold it then Hydramaster 470 D not good they even sent me another 470 unit, I spent so much time at interlink that the other carpet cleaners thought I was working there. Now own a Larry Cobb base 2045 unit. 2 0 hp and 45 blower. Runs everday j ust over 2 years as of now. I lost a lot of money because of the other units. Now cleaning is simple and easy, 31 years and will be 70 in Jan. and love to clean dirty white carpets. jz.

Started with a Hydramaster Bobcat 2/290 (for 13 years) then, PC 405 then, Powerclean Genesis XT. and now Titan 875. I think I like the Powerclean the best.

Re: Which Truckmounts Have YOU Purchased Over Your Lifetime of being in Business?

I have a few sapphire 370ss inside chevy extended vans. So far running great. Great heat, power, and don't take up much room. Which leaves me room for air movers dh. Not had them for too long but I beat them to death on a daily basis /250 jobs a month.
