Are the bugs sitting on the cushions?
Those things climb up inside the spots most of us never even knew held change..let alone bugs.
I had a custy call me and ask if i could clean her sofa. She bought it used and wants to make sure it does not have bugs/larva in it. I told her it would help and it would kill some dust mites. but I also told her that I was not an extremnator. .... what do you guys think??

i dont know that she has bugs or insects in the sofa.. i think she just wants to feel better about it... i just feel like i should not guartee somone that yes this will kill all insects.... i feel thats more of a job for a exterminator
I think what you said was exaclty correct.
This is a good question, I was wondering about this with mattresses. We are seeing a lot more bed bugs this year, Rob, what do we do?
My answer would be no we are not killing bugs unless they take a ride through our water slide to the tank of death!
thats funny Jason
In most states you can not legally make claims to kill insects unless, like Rob, you have the exterminator license. I once actually had a student removed from a class by state official after some irate customer was mad enough to turn him in for not having a license.
Flushing and heat will remove many eggs, larvae and some insects. But theri are more places to hide in a piece of upholstery than the surface we are cleaning. Fleas can jump.
Microban does have a product that kills a number of insects - Microban X580.
MasterBlend has products to kill dust mites and more importantly for allergy sufferers to denature the protein that causes the allergy.
Rob, honestly, not to bust your chops, I've seen this very same question posted several times on this board. A board that I've been told is here to "HELP other cleaners." Can you please explain why you, an owner of an extermination company, will NOT answer this very simple question. Here is yet again, one carpet cleaner asking for advise and some guidence. Cant you at least help him and others out?
Scott answered it just fine thank you. No one should apply pesticides without a license to do so.
Rob
Ahh, Rob I've been following some of your posts, and I see your into the pest control business to. I too have a pest control business. It is just hard for me to get started with my family, because I am the only one that works. So I was trying to do it on the weekends, and it never really took off. This is why I am stepping into this venture, I think it will be easier to sell then PC, and while inside I can always be on the look out for creepy crawlers UP SELL! Killing two birds with one stone! Has the cleaning biz helped your PC biz out?
