Or what's the worst thing you have caught an employee doing? I caught one of my employees spray misting the wand in the air in clean rooms. When I confronted him he said the customer will not know as long as the room is wet.

I said yes but I know, your fired!

So what's the worst thing you have ever saw or heard a carpet cleaner doing???

I've seen one do that also. Mist the carpet with the wand the dry vac real quick.
I've seen one pumping out at night on a commercial job into the parking lot.

I had another employee write an attractive customer a love note..,.and she was married. Husband was pissed!
I fired him too.

They did a study on carpet cleaners on one of those consumer shows, they called three carpet cleaning companies in separately, leaving a $20 bill behind the couch each time, then leaving the cleaner alone to do the job. Two out of three took the money and was caught on tape.

All that work misting and vaccing a carpet, seems stupid to me since its just as much work as cleaning the darn thing.

I can't believe it? Where did you get these people? I Have been a Custodial Manager for 6 years and I never had any heavy problem with myemploees. I have particular way how to find new employees, and 9 of 10 good employees.
the way how I find employees is going to play soccer because I like and because you have 22 people to check andsee how they are, if they play fair, teamwork, physical shape, motivation, how they behave, etc etc. you can really see how they really are.

One of the techs I used to work with at another company picked a toy poodle up with his vac hose and flung it across the living room of a couple college girls apartment. Granted, the dog was trying to bite us the entire time, but I was brand new then, not realizing it could have easily killed that dog.

I gotta admit, though, at the time it was hilarious, and we laughed and laughed about it the rest of the day.

I know of a tech that went thru a customers cabinets and ate and drank. He had no permission and was caught with food in his mouth. Needless to say she never called him back!

Wow, when we are trying to find an employee, were lucky if they last 3 days. As soon as they realize they are required to work for the money they usually quit.

here is my top few...A guy had to pee and it was against the company rules so use customers bathroom so he pee'd in the cleaning hose, sucked him right up. Another guy got caught by a nanny cam going threw drawers sniffing panties. Also have had a few guys brag to me on how many cusomers he had slept with, including a mother/daughter. The first 2 are true the 3rd could be a bit of story telling by co-workers

man these are funny, but terrible stories!! Wow! Worst thing my guy did, was stepped in dog poop outside, and tracked it up through the living room and up the stairs! Good thing it was an empty and nobody was home

The worst I did was to clean a living room and a hallway in the wrong home. The key they sent me unlocked the door (or maybe it was never locked). Got the numbers transposed.

I did have an employee who was accused of stealing a coffee cup full of loose change and a T shirt. He was a helper on the job with me. I remeber seeing those items in a room we were cleaning. I guess he grabbed them while we were putting equipment back in the truck.

I know of another cleaner who regularly charged for Scotchgard and applied water.
