    New Hot Water Heater!!!

Well, my old Little Giant water heater finally gave out a few weeks ago. It had some slow water drips and when I accidently cranked up the water pressure it really finished it off. Let's just say there were no slow drips any more, more like gushers.

Anyways I had been looking into a new high pressure, high flow, higher capacity water heater to handle the demands of Tile & Grout Cleaning, insight from other Dirty Grout members really helped. So here is my New Landa NG 3000 hot water heater. It is converted over to propane and I am really liking it. A few of the stats: 3000 psi rated, 150 degree increase in temperature at 6 gallons of water per minute, 350,000 BTU burner with thermostat control. It really gets the water hot and keeps it hot. Even at the higher flow rates for doing tile and grout cleaning. Melts away the grease and grime of restaurants.

    Harry;

The heater and frame look nice.

Is it a stainless coil or standard pressure washer type ?

350,000 BTU is a lot of heat, so be careful.

    Larry,

It is a standard pressure washer type. Stainless would be nice, but the expense is really up there right now. I have used a Little Giant Propane fired unit for about 15 years so I am familiar with propane. The burner on this thing is insane so I am really glad that I added the thermostat control.

It doesn't normally come with a thermostat? I can't believe they would sell it without a thermostat, for there is no way to stop it from burning without some type of upper limit device.

    Is it straight flow-fired?

    I agree with Larry, 350,000 BTU's is insane. I use 220,00 BTU's, and I can easily get 280ş.

You do NOT want a staniless coil. In addition to costing a grand more then the black pipe, at the least, stainless does NOT transfer heat as well as the schedule 80 black pipe does.

And you do not have to worry about black discharge from the wand using the sch 80 coils, once they are seasoned.

Seasoning takes about 2 days of cleaning, if that.

    Re: New Hot Water Heater!!!

I purchased it from a place called Royce Industries they are a regional supplier for pressure washing equipment. The Landa was built in my neighboring state of Washington to that helped with shipping expense. Probably into it about $3200 with hoses, thermostat, and chimney to vent through the roof. I'll be using it on the 2nd tile cleaning job since I got it tonight. I am really excited to see how much time it cuts off in cleaning the Restaurant nasties.

Looks nice but why not just pick up a diesel fired unit that needs no modifications? Just plug and play.

Yea, I'll probably do something like that (only propane fired) with my next new purchase. I got a good deal on this system while buying out another guys business. It is working great now.

    Re: New Hot Water Heater!!!

Simplistic is sooo much better. I love my propane fired. Its gets hot atw in 1 minute after firing it up. and it keeps up with anything I am cleaning. I do not like diesel or kero. the fumes are awful. Trying to get clean burning around here is impossible.

p.s. if anyone who needs a new burner assembly? type burner size on the auction site. example/ 32 tip burner/ 23 tip burner.
there about 90% cheaper than any other source.

Very nice burner! It wouldn't take much to relocate that thermostat assembly. Just a thought.
