    Re: Red Remover

    W/ or w/o steam?

I just recently had a red stain at a move out. I decided to try Red 1, Stain Magic and Red Zone from Bridgepoint on it. It was a kool aid stain and all 3 I did w/o steam as it's suggested. None of them worked at all. I did try the Red Zone w/using the towel/steam and it worked pretty good. Took me about 30-45 minutes for it to fully come out, but Red Zone did good.

    Re: Red Remover

Hands down Red Relief every time. Not a fan of Red 1. I use an iron with damp towel and no steam. Whoever said 45 min on a red stain that's nuts. Red Relief with an iron literally takes as little as 20 SECONDS. heck sometimes I don't even use the towel. I just spray Relief on and iron the carpet like a shirt.

    Re: Red Remover

Red Relief for me with iron on lowest steam setting, no water in iron with a wet, not dripping, white terry towel gets 95% of all red I come across.

    Re: Red Remover

If you use Red Relief or RedZONE or a simialr product, here is a trick that may come in handy some day. If you need to remove a red stain but don't have a steamer or iron or it is not working, there is usually always a microwave in the home. Get a white towel really wet and place it in the microwave. These will heat that towel to steaming in a minute or so.
Be careful - use gloves or tongs when you grab tht hot towel out of the microwave.

The only time i've EVER had 100% success w/o steam was with Red 1. HOWEVER, a client called me as soon as it happened and I was there within a few hours of the accident occuring, so, it was still pretty fresh when I got there. If I go anywhere where the stain has been sitting for a bit, it hasn't worked...AT ALL.

Stain zone a/b has worked with steam.

That's me. It honestly took me forever, glad it was a move out and no one was home.

Scott, do you suggest applying any pressure at all or just let the towel sit?

    Re: Red Remover

I've had very good luck with Red 1 w/ steam. With steam the product has most often taken the stain right out. W/o steam it has not taken any out while I was there cleaning. With the Black & Decker steamer it has really sped up the process and not having to worry about towels or melting the carpet is a big plus.

    Re: Red Remover

I had the Red Relief 2 part and it got every stain I ever tried it on. Jon-Don gave me a bottle of Red 1 to try, said it was just as good, but it didn't get half the stains up the 2 part I had.

No pressure. Just let the hot towel lay over the stain. It is there for the heat, no other purpose. After the heat has worked on the stain, you can wip it up and/or extract with hot water.

    Re: Red Remover

I have tried many red stain removers and without steam they only work when the stain is fresh. Otherwise, I use Red 1 or Red Relief using the heat transfer method.

    Re: Red Remover

I did a rental where the mother thought it was fine for her kids to drop the cheap frozen ice tubes where they were standing. Must have been 40 red stains throughout the trailer. Clean-n-vac's Red Vanish cleaned it up. The owner was grateful and shocked. Used it on vomited up kool-aid stains in a financial planners' office. That was only about 4 days old and it cleaned up in about 10 minutes.
