Thread: Steam Genie truckmounts..advice

Does anyone here use one or has had any experience with them?

I have a chance to get a hydro genie sgs with 690hours fairly cheap. It's a two wand set up. The owner is moving as his business collapsed and is desperate to sell everything he's got.

Are they troublesome? Hard to work on? Any help is appreciated

I own two of those, the hydro is all original and it works fine. Mine has a 36 blower and a 16hp Onan engine. The other one is just the frame; that one had a 20hp Onan and a 33 blower, it went out at about 6000 hrs. I kept the frame and installed a 24hp Honda and a Sutorbilt #4 Blower and it performs like new. If it is cheap it's not bad as a back up. Have someone check it out and go from there.

PS-I know it has 2 ports on the tank but it really isnt a 2 wand machine.

Thanks for that, I spoke w/the owner and it's 6 years old and only has 692hrs(hmm) and I might be able to get it for $2000...not sure If I want to get it and get rid of my panther 15.

I have a Rebel 45, it is a Steam genie , blower 4, 20 HP, I had a fill problems tuning the engine, thus ,when I found that Cummins sales anything you need, I got a brand new carburetor and a fill extras that I did the mechanic myself and now is working like a clock, I took the older propane heater that was to small and was getting me scary and got there a diesel heater that I use to have on my pressure washer unit , I need to buy a new vacuum gauge, thus I took for Larry to check and he told me I've been working at 18 in/Hg, that’s wy my carpets is getting dry really quickly.
I am not sure but I think that Is really easy to change the entire engine on a future that I need, for another brand of engine, just take to some good welder shop and they make miracles. I am not sure If you know but the engine that they use, ONAN, is not on the market anymore, I don’t regret to buy it, thus I would make sure the blower is good and the pump is good, the pump if run dry they are a little pick to get water on the line, if is a “ Hydracell “ or something, thus, my machine came whit 1600 Hrs on it and is running good, I think you got a good deal there, let me know if you want, If not I may. LOL

I called and spoke w/the former owner of Steam Genie and he gave me some great information. It does still have the 16hp Onan with a 36 Roots blower with the propane setup. I thought it was odd that this model hasn't been made in over 7 Years and yet still it only has 685hrs on it. My biggest concern is that parts are few and far between. Again still, I'm hoping to get a killer deal on this machine. I will know tomorrow.
