Thread: Man and Wife cleaning teams ...Smart?

Lately , I have been taking my wife along with me on some jobs. She is very personable and really pretty. It seems to relax the atmosphere , and bring customers into a more personal situation. Usually , the woman of the house is the person who is home when we show up. And as I am working....their talking about purses and baby stuff. And if the man of the house is the one answering the door....hes usually pretty "talkative" too. She is dressed in company clothes and is trained. She cant run the wand though. Tell me what you think.

Its worked well for us. The wife takes the calls (we need some work there) and she goes along with me for the job. People have responded well when they recognize the voice from the other end of the phone. People are naturally scared or apprehensive when inviting people into their home. I've noticed that they generally feel less threatened by a well presented women.

I usually map out a plan for upsells as the job progresses then I give a little verbal script to the wife. Women have related well to her as far as selling protection and deodorizers.

Older folk are always enamored with the fact that we're married. Something about a good ole fashion hard working couple that lights up the eyes of a 60-90 year old women.

She's great on the job but is limited on her ability to close or sell over the phone. Just hasn't been doing it long enough. I've been meaning to start a thread here looking for an outline or script for taking calls.

I was initially worried about it coming across as not being professional but I haven't felt like there's been any shortcomings yet. We both wear company attire which I think helps.

My wife and I have been doing this for 9 years now. Works out for us.

My wife and I have been working together since we started, it is great. The customers love her, she has an awsome outgoing personality, and she aint bad to look at either. Just my 2 cents, if she is willing to help, take her with you.

Sounds great guys. I agree there is a certain "comfortable air" when she is with me. And yes the older generations have a ball with it. Only thing is, she is deathly scared of big dogs....sometimes wont even get out of the truck. Lol. She loves going on jobs with me. And there is a certain confidence I get when she is around also. Its hard not to say something like "can you go get a towel from the truck babe...I mean..hun..or ...Just go." And no arguing.

Ohh, and another thing. It seems that she is well utilized when it comes to pricing the job. Sometimes I like to give breaks, but she will work it up exactly the way it is supposed to be. Strict pricing. And the customer is then in a position of looking cheap. Instead of us looking expensive.

The rooms are all presprayed , the hoses pulled back.....customer is "babysat" Wand stays on the carpet. And Im not the bad guy when the bill comes. Hell one customer liked her so much, she gave us a 3000.00 dollar king size bed....and the money for the bill. It was sitting in their garage and they asked us if we knew anybody who would want to buy it. And by the time we left , the lady said. "If you can get this thing out of here , its yours." ....Done

THis got me to thinking. Would you hire a husband and wife team to work for you? It kind gives a different dynamic to the concept.

Depends on how they smell......and what they are wearing. And how many kids are in the van.

seriously , that is interesting, cuz I would probably be a little apprehensive. As long as I see the iICRC patches and well kept equipment. Im cool.
