I wish I would have said all that !

Now as to why I didn't choose an Aerotech or Vortex;
No space for my diverse services
I'm not a fan of direct drives
Repairs are difficult
Parts are expensive
Gas guzzlers
And MOST of all I am DONE with over engineered Heat Exchanger units. I don't want my vacuum restricted to create heat,I don't want lots of solenoids and tons of propitiatory parts. All of this leads to costly repairs, frequent downtime and unhappy customers.
This is just a few reasons why I am headed in the direction of this build. Overall I feel when I am done I will save 30k and have more room, have many more features,be more efficient and look better."
Diamon Plate is Sweeeet!
And still saving 30k - smart move!

Here is a hint...(new model is even hotter and has more vacuumThat Diamond Plate is a significant improvement over the GREEN. I think if you had left the green you would have had problems with hung over employees. They would have recovered your floor after seeing that color.
Did I miss something or have you stated what machine you are using?
Rick)

Nice setup Rob; El Diablo's are some awesome machines from what I have seen.

Hey Rob what size is the side access door in your Box truck ??

Rob, could you post some close up pics of the solution reels plumbing
Thanks Doug

I will work on the pics Doug. I am actually preparing a nice video if you can wait. If not let me know if you need more.
Before I installed my vacuum hoses I decided to move the switch from the vacuum reel to the solution reel. This was tedious but provides easy access to the button. Notice the red circle, that is where the switch was. The arrow shows where it is now. Much better!

I also have a question about the diamond plate.... If you get a high PH cleaner on it wont it etch it?
Not sure just wandering....
Looking BAD A$$ so far!

Thanks Jason. Hey where can I get that rack to double the space? Sounds great. I went with the chrome diamond plate. I think it is chemical resistant. But I have some left over. Guess I'll give it high ph cleaning tomorrow. I'll let ya know what it does.Hey Rob.... That is the same fresh tank I have. Hi Rob
I have been researching Truck Mount setups, came across you forum, very well done.
I got into carpet cleaning last year as another revenue stream during rental make readies.
I started with a Roto Vac Wand and CFX and cleaned 138 Apartments last year.
This year list has grown to over 200, So I'm thinking I need truck mount for efficiency.
Of course this means I would be committed to cleaning more than make readies.
My question is why not a sprinter van, any reason not to use other than cost.

Martin first of all thank you for the compliment on the forum. Secondly congrats on your success. Thirdly,we at TMF have been having a lot of fun putting this unit together. We feel we have found a niche and we will be offering TMF custom installs and builds. Sort of like OCC meets carpet cleaning. Therefore we see no reason to not put one together in a Sprinter and look forward to putting one in one day. It would be a great fit!Hi Rob

Martin Madorin I know you did not ask me - but this is free if you want my .02.
A sprinter would be a great Van- cost is very high. They only give more high and not ready much more floor space.
Problems one can have with box vans are the Drivers. They are hard to see when backing up and make wider turns. Also they bottom out when driveways and such are not level.
Low branches in yards can also be a factor!
Going to drive and Box truck you must be far more careful and hope they can stay out in the road most of the time.
I like the box truck the Aussie used - low profile and not as wide - yet wide and open like box trucks are. But again you are not likely to find one for 7.5k!

When installing a tm make sure your vehicle can handle the weight of ALL your eqpt. I don't use a box truck because they are too high to pass thru the McDonalds drive thru!! best of luck in your decision!! spotman

Thanks for the pics Rob cant wait for the video. This thread is quickly becoming my all time favorites. Regarding the live reel plumbing I'm having a hard time grasping the concept of the swivel. can any standard reel be converted after installing the swivel and hose disconnect?

OK here is a pic of brass fittings and filters. Notice that most are 1/2" and some even are only 3/8"s. I have found while building this unit that many installers take shortcuts to save money. Smaller fittings & filters = less money. Here is the drawback I discovered. The smaller fittings restrict flow and slow down filling. Have you ever had to fill your tank at the shop before you head out to a job and it takes forever to fill? Well thank your last installer who scrimped.![]()
But that is not what bothers me most. I also want full flow going into my machine with no restrictions to make sure my machine performs optimally. So notice I replaced all my 1/2" and 3/8"s with large 5/8" fittings, filter and hoses. I'll post the pics installed next.

1/2" now is 5/8"
