    Oreck Orbiter ?'s

Hey guys, anyone used a Oreck Orbiter lately for agitation? I searched but only found threads a year old. I am looking for something for the new van and already have a small Koblenz that I use. I am happy with the Koblenz, but figure if I am gonna buy something new that I might as well try something else.

    Thanks

    Re: Oreck Orbiter ?'s

I used to use one, until I noticed some pilling of the carpet fibers(residential). That was using oreck's pads. The carpet brush is just ok for pre spray......However, the machine is very useful in small area commercial applications.......

Works fine with the brush to adgitate prespray in residential traffic lanes.

You can easily use it on steps.(walks righ down.)

With the bonnett you can pad encap with it on steps or spots.

Get some tuway pads for pre scrubbing (they are gentle on the fibers) and then get some fiber plus pads for scrubbing trashed carpets or Berber, then get some 15 inch glad pads if you want to post dry pad. You can even use the glad pads for pre scrubbing, and remove a good amount of soil, and stains before you even put the wand to it.

I looked at one; Just do a cement breakin run on brush before you put it on carpet. The demo I did worked great.

    Re: Oreck Orbiter ?'s

i like mine as well. good for prespray agitation. very easy to use on stairs. lightweight.

i will be trying it on a hardwood recoat next week. i have 2 of these and will prolly mod 1 to be a bit heavier for wood floors.

i was also thinking of using the concrete brush for t&g. we shall see how this works out.

All of these pads will work with the Orbiter? Which model Oreck is the one to get?

Truth is ,, I don't know if it will take those pads or not. I never used that machine. If your looking at getting the little cheap one just for pre scrubbing than it may be worth it for you. and I'm sure the driver could be easily modified to take pads.

But don't waist big $ on the big OREK. For the same money you might find a used challenger, CCS or HOS. And any of those will be WAY better for you than an orek. You also might want to give Clark a call , and see if he has any used or demo 15 inch machines available.

We added a Oreck Orbiter to our equipment list, great to have for those tight spots and carrying up a flight of stairs.
