Cool Showing Your Customers The Chemicals You Use

Have you ever took the time and showed you customers what chemicals you use for carpet cleaning?

Would you even take the time to do so?

Some people say they use Scotchgard, Teflon, Prespray and so on......but are they really doing so?

You might say you offer green products, so majority of the time your customer takes your word for it!

    What are your thoughts?

if the customer wanted me to, I would. Nothing to hide really. Most just inquire about what kind of protector I use, and some ask they are sensitive to "chemicals" and I tell them what I use, but they always take my word for it, but I wouldn't lie either.

One customer a while back, was chemical sensitive and bought this carpet cleaner shampoo stuff, and wanted me to use it as a pre spray . I had to re assure him that my stuff was better quality and wouldn't bother him, and everything worked out fine, took my word for it.

I've let them read bottle labels from time to time if they ask. Or I refer them to CTI's website where they can see the MSDS

If they ask, I would show them in a heartbeat, nothing to hide here! And if they wanted MSDS, I have them all in my truck in a folder.

Same as Aaron i would show them the detergent and the MSDS if they wanted to see. I would however be a little reluctant to do the same for other cleaners in the area. I feel i have done the research and trials to get what i consider the best detergents to use so i figure they can do the same.

16 years ago when I started my business I did bonnet cleaning. I used 3m bonnet cleaner. I was at a job and the guy asked me what I was using, I told him that I did't know the exact chems in it a lot of things that I couldn't pronounce. But it was formulated to dry fast.

I was putting my equipment in the van and turned around and there he was. He asked to see what I was using so I showed him. He started reading the label out loud calling everything by it's proper name. He said no wonder this stuff dry's so fast it has 3 different kinds of alcohol in it.

I was impressed, he said I work for the EPA that's how I know this kind of thing. Never know who you are talking to.
