  • Piranha Marketing Is Full. Closes Doors To New Clients

As of May 26th, Piranha Marketing is no longer accepting new Piranha Members, and is becoming a closed exclusive network of cleaning and restoration companies.

A video message by Piranha Founder and President Joe Polish was posted on their home site www.JoePolish.com today to make the announcement to website visitors. In the message he explains that all resources now will be directed 100% at building the revenue growth of their network of member companies in America, Canada, UK and Australia.
Lisa Wagner, Piranha’s CEO, added in a statement, “We laid out a goal to reach for the size of our membership, and we hit it. We now have the largest Buyers Group network of companies in the industry, and we are going to keep the quality companies we have and multiply their growth. These are the companies who invested in their bigger futures, and we are going to make sure they are huge.”
Piranha Marketing is the largest marketing and business building training company in the cleaning and restoration industries, with over 5,700 companies who have purchased their complete Piranha Marketing Systems.
Joe and Lisa both acknowledged the struggles being faced by many small businesses in this industry, and pointed out that valuable resources are available on www.JoePolish.com for free for anyone in need of strategic marketing help right now. Additional resources have been added to help those who are not Piranha Members.
A waiting list will be compiled through their website, with applications, for any spots opened up through attrition. One day a month a limited number of marketing kits will be sold along with the license to use their copyright protected marketing campaigns, strategies, and templates.
For more information about Piranha Marketing opportunities for non-members, visit www.JoePolish.com.

      that's too bad.
at WeTeachCarpetCleaning we have been promoting the Piranha Marketing CD's as a means of kick-starting new companies.
now we'll need to find a new system to help new guys and girls.

      any ideas?
      HP?
      SFS?

this is a old marketing trick we use to create "value". Cleaners will be saying to themselves now, "man i must be missing out. All of these other cleaners are in but me. This company must be doing something right in order to "close its doors to new clients". So, let me go and put myself on a waiting list. "

      works every time.

I just makes perfect marketing sense to me. Something I do all the time with carpet cleaning.

It's more efficient to sell to a center of influence contact that will lead to hundreds to thousands of future sales than to struggle sell to one prospect at a time.

You can apply this princible to your own business and make your advertising easier, more powerful and more cost effective.

I agree. I find with me it works well when you have a good amount of clients. You can try it if your new with no clients, just need to have the right message.

Cosway - the only difference is that now you can direct your new companies to www.JoePolish.com and www.RichCleanerBlog.com, and they don't have to buy any CD's - they can get content for free. And, considering they are start-up's, that's even better, right?

Our membership has essentially become the UN-franchise, giving all of the systems, proprietary campaigns and tools, and the buyers group that you need to dominate your region. We are at the point where we have as large a group as we want, and it's time to shut the door and protect their interests through exclusivity and dedicate our one-on-one time to them.

That said, both Joe and I have given enormously to this industry to help grow others companies. That's why we both have been chosen as past Cleanfax Persons of the Year - for those contributions. His through marketing, and mine heavily technical to all of you - through my 11 years with CFI, my two terms on IICRC, my writing for Cleanfax, my rug kit and workshops with Jon-Don for 4 years, and the help I provide on the rug side on this forum, as well as the others. I've given more content for free in my industry channels than I've ever charged for.

Running a small business is tough. You all know that. And you also know that eventually your personal time needs to be dedicated to your highest value clients. But that doesn't mean that you leave all the rest out to dry. You hopefully train a great team to handle the jobs you just don't want to personally be on anymore.

For us - our personal time will be for our network. But we will help the rest of the industry through simply making a lot of our content available without purchase. Then as other companies grow, and want more from us, they may end up coming into the fold in the coming years. But even if they don't - they will grow through us even if they never spend a dollar with us.

I am extremely proud of what Joe has built in Piranha, and my role with them now into my 11th year. Building the Buyers Group, and not only helping members make money, but saving them thousands as well, was one of my highlights in these past 2 years. Seeing Piranha Members come to Nashville to help coordinate flood work and assist in that disaster - also another highlight of the restoration network we have built.

If you want to think this is a marketing "ploy" to sell a few thousand dollars of kits, go ahead. You just have no idea where the momentum and the growth for our company is coming from. We have been incredibly blessed these past few years, and will be showing our gratitude to our network to make them bigger as the economy gets wobblier... and also show gratitude through the industry at large by helping them with better resources for free than what they are paying others for.

That said... SFS is a good program - you do no harm by referring your clients to that.

And again - for free resources - you can share those 2 sites. I have a lot of plans in the works to help us leave our legacy on this industry in a very powerful way.

I went to those 2 sites and saw quite a few CDs for sale.

Where is the link that delivers them for free?

      Did I miss somthing?

At least you made me look. Job well done!!!

When you hit the "cleaners" button on the main www.joepolish.com page you land on a site that underneath Joe's video lists 20 free items - reports and interviews (90 minutes each). This is all free content. If you go to RichCleanerBlog.com, type any topic in the search box, and again free education, audios and videos.

It's pretty straightforward... you just have to know what you are looking for.

The CD's still for sale are the core Piranha Marketing program by Nightingale-Conant (their #1 marketing program for the past 5 years) - but this is GENERAL marketing for any industry, and not cleaning or restoration specific.

      Hope that helps you out....

Not to beat a dead horse here.

But it seems a bit disingenuous about Piranha closing the door to selling marketing to cleaners. As there is a video of Joe saying that the doors are open. You are just limiting orders to one day a month.

I did check out the" #1 on Google " post and found it to not have much value as to showing how to be #1 on local maps.

It just had some random links place your business listing on local search.

You could than end up on page 87 without any other tips.

It didn't show the tactics and criteria that will make your listing soar to the top of the results.

More zizzle. But, no steak on my opinion.

Hopefully your next Google #1 post will have some real meat to it.

Will it list the specific steps it takes to get your business listing on the top of local search?

Dave - all you need to do is have a few (literally 2 will do) customers post a positive review for you on any of the review sites (Google local or Yelp) - and that will push you up quickly. Easy (if you do good work), and free.

Google used to be complicated. Now it's easy to rank up top by having others say good things about you, or have videos that consumers find interesting. I've had my rug cleaning site on the first page forever, and it's because it's full of educational content that people reference, link to, and come to consume constantly.

By the way - it's often better to be #2 or #3 than #1, in terms of click-through.

If you want a really powerful interview on that list - my favorite from the last year - check out MaryEllen Tribby. She took Early to Rise from $8million to $30million in less than 18 months - and she is one of the savviest marketers in the business today, on-site or brick-and-mortar companies. That interview is the biggest seller from the series, and it's free on that site. Her book also is one of the best books I've read this year on marketing.

      A little meat.

Now add to your site with this tip and a few more. So, you can really help the cleaners.

You know there is more to Google ranking than just client testimonials and videos.

Do you have steps 2-10 for instance as a token good will of your free advise and expertice?

(Not for me Iv'e been on page 1 forever also)

Dave, you are illustrating perfectly a key point here, which I hope other will read and learn from.

I've coached more than 1,000 companies through our Platinum group - which is the level where we have our "better your best" contest, where they track their progress in the year - what they implemented, and the impact from those strategies - into a big fat folder. I've been one of 10 judges for this over those past 7 years, into the 8th this year.

Here's what I've discovered... though there are over 800 documents (campaigns, tools, templates, strategies) in our Piranha Central library for our members, and more than 100 strategies alone in our basic marketing manual from the core member kit, the companies who create the real growth in from one year to the prior have put into place a handful of strategies. Usually it is 3-5, implemented completely and consistently, that is the little hinge that swings the big door in their company.

The ones who try to put dozens into place go too shallow and burn out. Or we have lots who keep asking and asking for that next big "new" idea before they've even put the working "old" ideas into place. It's that famous Emerson quote "you ask me for a new idea when you haven't used the last one I gave you"... or Edison's "the value of an idea lies in the using of it."

There are some shortcuts to success no doubt... but there is no way to get something you do not work to earn.

So listen to the Tribby interview I've given you. There is marketing wisdom there that will help your company.

I am a fan of giving simple, tactical strategies that create immediate results - not the complicated big fat formulas that some use to try to make themselves look super smart (but give you nothing to track to show true progress).

If anyone who is not pulling up on page 1 does what I suggest, the reviews, and creating value-giving video clips (short) to leverage in multiple hosting locations, they will see that simply those 2 steps will move them to #1. They don't need 10 steps to half-do, they need a few important ones to FULLY leverage. And that's the point... it's best to do fewer things fully, then to spread yourself it too many directions halfway.

But thanks for letting me illustrate that point.... and if you don't want to spend the time to listen to the interview, then we have nothing more to share with one another, because I've given on my end, and you have not.

      Thanks,
      Lisa

      Free content , Free interviews?

      Not what I found

This is for the "free" interview you mentioned.

      https://www.geniusnetwork.com/maryel...bby/secure.php

More of the same or what?

Why make a special announcement of all the stuff you are giving away. That seems to be the opposite when someone actually goes to your site?

Is anyone else curious about this?

Doors not really being closed as Joe says himself, Post on how to be #1 on Google that has no tips about how to do it, free interviews that need a credit card ect....

Shenanigans? Or site not updated to show the free content? Or a publicity stunt?

      Fill me in-

I get that you are in the business of selling products. Nothing wrong with that. More power to you. You should be rewarded for helping others. It's the American way. I just see some inconsistencies.

Dave - classic... I went to "freemarketingforever" and the free package costs $397. What do you teach, hopefully not bait and switch? LOL.

The strategies all at www.joepolish.com/cleaner are all there, no opt-in, for FREE. Not pretend free, but pay not a single dollar free. Same with www.richcleanerblog.com, all posts there are FREE, not pretend $397 free.

More will be added in the coming months, again, for free.

Unlike you with John S. and other names I don't recognize (except for Mike P.) in your testimonials - we have hundreds of actual people who will go on video saying what we've done for them, like Sandy and Rick from Canada. Specific strategies and results mentioned in this, not just a "good job you guys" testimonial:

And here are Mike and Jerry from Wisconsin - who we took into restoration last year, and they are bringing in $100,000 in additional revenue this year in flood work they didn't have last year.

And - if you'd like two video clips to help that mindset to be more proactive and positive, instead of negative - here are two clips of my presentations on mindset - short, but if you open yourself to listen to the information, it might be helpful for you.

      Playing to win

      Bigger Self, Smaller Self

      Hope you enjoy those clips....

I was just posting some inconsistencies it saw when I visited your site.

I never said my marketing package was free.

The name refers to once the marketing is implemented.

You can have a perpetual steam of new clients for your business every month without having to pay a dime. if you don't want to.(and even no further effort)

No postage. No newsletter templates to buy, No conferences, no printing, No coupons, No door knocking.

Great prospects will seek out your company. It's like putting your marketing on autopilot.

For me it brings in more work than my former $1000 a month YP ad.

Now instead $1000 per month I pay zero, nada, zilch per month and it returns better results.

Certainly worth the $400 one time investment with no recurring monthly fees like some marketers charge.

Rob, when is this video due out. After 27 years in the business, I'm kinda doing the same thing with my business as you, but on a smaller scale. New marketing ideas, new blood (son), added 2nd truck, Big box 16' GMC4500 with big machine. Your videos are great, love your TV commercial, modeling my big box after yours. Thought I'd buy your DVD for ideas, didn't know it was directed at exhisting business, thought it was to teach new people how to start a cleaning business. Keep up the great job with this forum, don't know where you find the time. I run 3 businesses and spread myself pretty thin sometimes, but not like you.

Reminds me of my wife! Just kidding! I used to tell a story about kicking the dog it has to do with attitude.
Dad goes to work and and misses his quota of sales and the Boss rips him a new One! Dad goes home and his wife bought a new dress and he yells at her for spending money they dont have!
At the dinner table the family's eating and little Johnny knocks his glass of milk over and Mom Smacks him on the head and yells pay more attention that wouldnt happen!
Little Johnny goes out back and sits down while Buster the dog come's to lick his face Johnny kicks the dog.
the key is to stop the cycle before the dog ever gets kicked Good luck! it could also be a lesson on cause and effect.
