Thread: Cooling Down Butler Truck Mounts

With older Butler machines simply push the on/off switch. Only one heat exchanger was used.
Cleaning solution only got as hot as engine coolant, usually not over 190 degrees at the wand.
Someone with a newer machine will need to kick in for those. I would think running a unrestricted
1/4" line back to your fresh water tank from a front panel valve may work. A minute or so flooding
other heat exchangers with cold water should prevent boiling. And as a bonus Mr. Forgetful
wouldn't run out of water if he left the valve open.

I use a bleed hose off my front panel to spray out whats in the heat exchangers.

But I run a cleanco with 4 heat exchangers.

whats the reason to cool down a butler?

I never have with mine, am I missing something?

Having owned a heat exchanger slide in I guess it's an old habit.

But the heating systems are different so maybe there is no need to.

just crack the hot water valve on the front to take the pressure off when your done

I suppose you could use the front hose going through the floor in front of the machine..but, that will only cool down the max heat system if installed, disconnect vac hose during that process to maximize cool air. However, as long as the van is running, you can't cool down the main hx anyway. It's constantly heated even when the machine is off.
