I've descaled and it got better, but my tech says the pressure isn't right. Guage reads OK, and no loss at the guage when triggering. Any ideas? Thanks, John

Hi John,
Have you tried to use a pressure hose with new fittings sometimes the push lock fittings gets clogged with tiny debris in the end and will cut pressure down going to the wand, also check your jets and screens too, could also be a filter at the machine end. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Do you have an in-line filter on the wand? Lots of guys do and don't even know it until it gets clogged. Take all the fittings off where the solution hose plugs into the wand and clean them out. If there is a small screen inside that will be your in-line filter.
By the way welcome to the best carpet cleaning forum in the world!

Both of the above post were right on track. I also had a situation where I was not getting proper pressure at the wand even though the machine was showing full pressure on the gage. It turned out that a new liquid detergent I was using had really clogged up bad at the quick connect on the front of the machine. Some detergents just are not cut out for higher temperatures and tend to clog the works up. If you have been using this detergent for a long time w/o problems then I doubt if this is the problem, but if you recently switched to a new detergent whether liquid or powder it very well could cause it and pretty quickly I might add. Only about a few days of using that new detergent clogged mine up something fierce. I went back to my Matrix All Fiber Rinse and Matrix Finish First and never a problem since. By the way, when you did the descale did you run some through your lines too? I always finish off my descaling by running it out through my hoses and wand followed by clear water rinse. One last suggestion. If you don't already have one I would recommend a water softener. I run my water through a whole house water filter into my water softener and on into my clean water tank. The filter I'm talking about is just a cheap home filter you can pick up at Lowes or a number of places for $30. to $40. The replacement filters are cheap too and they last several months. If things are getting clogged up then it is either your water is too hard or there is a problem with your detergent.

Hello my name is Joe and I've owned my machine for about two years now. I found this forum by accident and joined right away. I'm on the island of Guam so getting assistance with future issues will be a chalenge. I hope I can make some new friends here with regards to my carpet cleaning business.

Good advice Dan, Jason and Randy.
Make sure to check your chemical check valve and more importantly the check valve screen that is located on the front of your machine.

Welcome Joe!

Hi, I have an thermal wave II Vortec, 2007, and noticed that my 3-1/2, 14" (L), vac-hose from the waste tank to the vacuum pump assy callasped to about 40% opening. What would cause this? Also trying to locate this particular hose on Guam is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Joe,
you may have better luck getting help if you start your own thread.

if you not seeing a decrease at the machine then it is more then likely at the tool......take your wand and stand by the machine and key the trigger and watch the pressure........then switch tools....different wand...stair tool..or what ever....key that one and watch the pressure.....you should see a decrease in the pressure when you key the wand...if you are not getting a decrease....then something is plugged in the tool....

That hose you are refering to should be wire bound. The only way that hose could collapse is if its over ten years old or your lift is set outragiously high. In any event you need a new hose if its collapsing. Perhaps JonDon will send it to you in Guam. Or you can try Amazonhose. See if they will send you the hose. Your going to need what is called "transfer tank hose" for water and vacuum applications.

sorry, I tried to create a new thread but was to quick. will do that next time. again apologize.
R,
Joe

yes the hose is wire bound, doesn't look old at all, lift set? the hose seems even with the tank. thanks.

Here is some advice. Call Sapphire Scientific and ask for Scott in Bluewave, He is da man !!!!!
We always call him in a bind and yes he is that good!!!!!
