We keep Soap-free Procyon or Bridgepoint's Prolon in the truck at all times for quick mixing on site, at night in the shop when I have more time to prep the truck for the next day, I mix up a hydroforce full of Matrix Finish First and sometimes a splash of citris sol for its grease cutting properties. The Matrix goes a lot farther, has a subtle lemony scent and stretches our chemical dollar a lot farther than the soap free products. All the products we use work quite well so its just a strategy that I've employed lately with making them go a little farther. I see a lot of cleaners here are using the grand slam which Ive never tried. I am assuming it is a higher ph version of the finish first, and its that high PH that kind of steered me away from it for regular use.
With no critisizm intended, Im curious why so many prefer to use an enzyme based cleaner for regular carpet cleaning. Enzymes are designed to break down biological matter and oils and stuff like that, but they dont do too much for basic dirt and dust. If the carpet has puppy stains all over the place then yes maybe enzyme would be the way to go. At least this is my understanding. I keep a single tub of Enzyme based prespray powder in the shop and only take it out on restaraunt jobs where the type of soiling its designed for can be put to good use. If I had room in the van I would keep it in there incase of a bad urine room too.
Last year I was using Esteam Products such as pre-max, ammonia traffic lane and such but had to stop because I couldnt stand the fuminess anymore. I actually believed that customers liked the "fresh scent" these products left behind. I would sometimes add masking agent deodorizers to the prespray as well to leave that scent which I thought was a great impression to leave behind. After some extensive customer surveying over the past several years, given the choice, 95% of customers chose "no scent" to their carpet cleaning. Nobody wants to smell your soapy perfumes when you leave, they merely tolerate it because they feel they have to. The products I use now have little or no odor at all and are highly effective and economical too.
Scott is right about vinegar, so many people, including professional carpet cleaners think that this is a good cleaner and they are so misguided. Unfortunately the customers dont have chemical training and go by what their grandmother always told them to use vinegar to clean everything. Vinegar is an acid, it attracts alkaline substances which is the opposite of dirt. Vinegar wont draw dirt from a carpet, it will repel it. I would use vinegar for yellowing issues, or perhaps a coffee or urine stain after I've already cleaned it with alkalines. Vinegar is not bad for neutralizing wool carpets after you have used alkaline detergents to clean them, although I prefer citric acid because of the low fume factor. Vinegar is great for window cleaning, it doesnt streak, but its the water and the cloth that are actually removing dirt from the window, and the fast evaporation rate of vinegar insures a streak free finish. If anyone out there thinks vinegar is good for cleaning carpets please think again!

I recently started using Judsons O2 system which can be boosted with their Hot Sauce. Works great for me, also smells great and my customers love it.

Judsons 02 on all jobs & add Grime Reaper for restaurants
using anz all require a final neutralization - fiber rince
but any way ita a great pre spray i have been used.
If any one need very power prespray try the Prochem - power burst.
for after fire carpet works , power burst works many times better than Anz All

Have you noticed (yet) you clean a carpet in lets say mesa... it came out perfect. Then you go to chandler, and struggle to get the same type of carpet, similar conditions, and wonder why you cant get this carpet remotely close to clean??? There is a very reasonable explanation for this...
It all starts with our "poor" water quality. And in the Phoenix metro area.... each suburb has its own treatment facility. So Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, Phoenix all have different water quality... and it goes from bad to worse!!!!!
This is the very reason I got into PureRinse, I make and use the same good quality water all over the valley. The next time you are at Tempe Interlink, ask Scott (Mechanic) about this.... He knows me....
Also, check out TSI in Tempe.... Interlink is NOT the only disty here, That carries good quality cleaning chems.... in fact a new one is opening up in Avondale... "Az Chemical" Grand opening on the 10th of Jan.

I use a secret sauce a dry cleaner taught me how to make; Haven't seen anything come close. Sure wished I could afford to build those blast sheilds so the neighbors will stop complaining.

judsons juice? where do you buy it?
thanks ahead of time!

Many have found Judsons juice leaves way too much sticky residue behind. Plus it is difficult to get product consistency when it is mixed in a garage by non-chemists. Dr Aziz a leading chemist in the industry said that any company that adds peroxide to it's prespray does a disservice to the end user. Mixing it with delime negates it's ability in a day or two. Therefore the peroxide (as some refer to as o2) is only placebo.
