    FRINGE!!!!!

I just made a post on my blog about fringe. If you have customers who get adamant about wanting that pristine white fringe - it would be a good article to print out and show them. (It is always better to use someone else's words to explain something that they don't want to hear.)

Click here for FRINGE Rug Chick post.

So... do you have any favorites on cleaning fringe?

    How about any questions?

This forum has been a little dead on the rug side - so I thought I'd bring up something that might generate some good Q/A.

Hopefully you all are BUSY this season cleaning! We are. Yay!

    Thanks Rug Chick!

Its wonderful that someone w/ your expertease is willing to help the clueless such as myself.

I'm going to start work on my poor man's wash pit this spring when things heat up a bit.

I'm looking forward to peppering you with a borage of q's then.

Until then, I'm gonna have another beer (or two)!

    Cheers!

    Thanks a google!

Lisa I think we are all slammed busy with cleaning for the busy seasons. I know we are. Great info as always and we will see what we can do to get the ball rolling in your forum.

Thanks George & John - and Rob, no worries, it doesn't need to be super busy on this thread, I'll just be here when people need me, and stir up some questions when they come to mind.

And I see A LOT of readers - so if there was no interest, we'd know.

As I am sure you know, fringe bleaching leads to no fringe! On white fringes we apply a weak solution of Chemspecs browning treatment. I had a woman mad at me for not getting a spot out (on the field) one time. She was especially mad as she got it out herself. I asked what she used, straight ammonia. I said, I could have done that. She said, why didn't you then?! I said, cuz I didn't want to make a hole in the rug. She said, what? I said, don't vacuum or walk on that spot. LOL

I never use any sort of bleaching, or reducing agent on fringe. Never! Don't have to. In fact, I'm a firm believer in the "Less Is More" concept of cleaning Fibers and fabrics. What's my secret? I use Crystal Dry and 100% cotton towels. It's safe, VERY affective and you'll never have to stress, or worry about ruining their rugs. Plus, your clients will think you're a hero.

Remember, your customers are not only paying you to Clean their investment textiles....They're also paying you Not To Ruin them as well.
