Please post your rug plant or pits here!

I have 60 or 70 rug plants photos. None are of my rug plant. Different places I have visited or were sent to me. Several are from a Duraclean franchisee in Illinois.
I tried to attach 6 photos. It seems that only 2 showed up. So I will make another post.

More rug plant photos.

We have green grass 12 months a year..... If you water in the summer!
Man I wish I had a building. I had to wait a 8 days last week to clean 1 rug with all the rain we have been having. There were a couple of days that were sunny but I was busy on those days. The customer even called to see if I was holding it hostage. Kind of embarrassing to say "well I have to wait until my driveway is dry and the humidity is below 100%."
Pit cleaning looks to be an efficient way of cleaning a rug.

This is a 24 x 24 garage. The pit is on half the floor. I dust, roll up the girds and set up the dry stands on the other half. Rug storage is above the centrifuge. Its tight, but I have very little overhead for the space. I put my money in equipment, will work to build volume to where I can't do it in such a small space and then rent something larger.
A key to this set up for me is the centrifuge and portable dry stands from Clark Lancaster. Cleaning quality is great and dry times are short.

nice!!!!!!! that is a complete set up....im sure you broke the bank on that one hehe

You should be able to set up a shop like this for around 35 to 45K. The quality of the work will grow the business. You do need around a 1000 to 1500sq/ft. But excessive overhead will kill you fast.

Hand knotted and many machine woven rugs have a cotton or wool foundation. They are very tightly woven and the soil builds up in the foundation of the rug. That is why dusting is so important. While with carpet, we try to avoid getting the backing wet, when cleaning rugs if you don't get the backing wet to clean it, it is considered surface cleaning.
The challenge is know what rugs are problems. Having a centrifuge to get them clean and dry quickly solves a lot of cleaning problems also. It is one awesome machine that Clark has built.

Here of some poor pics of our rug plan. Our drying room, cleaning room, reception area/office, and my "Rug Duster" old school badger. For any rugs needing pit washing they go outside to the back parking lot and get the hose followed by truck mount extraction before we bring them back in to dry. The drying room contains 8 18 ft long heavy metal poles.
