    Bleeding oriental

Client dropped off oriental with lots of dark reds and a little white, claimed the competeition cleaned it and let her p/u wet!
I'm getting ready to clean this rug and while pre vaccing I notice some pink spots on white areas. ( I thought that where the other company had left it wet that I could wet clean it). So I do the white wet rag test and red transfered big time with hot or cold water. I"m going to pass on this thing because I don't know of any other way to clean it besides wet clean.
Whats the other way of cleaning these rugs? I use to use portable dry cleaning machine when I worked for a big company, but I do not own such machinery right now.

    Re: Bleeding oriental

If it is transferring with cold or hot, then yes, you need to be worried. Can you post any photos? I would pass on it because you have no idea what the other guy put on it.

    Re: Bleeding oriental

did you test it with an all fiber rinse or acetic acid to see if it transfers the dye to a towel that way? if it dosent bleed then spray it down with that and rinse with that then test for colorfastness at that point with your rug cleaner if it still bleeds on the towel with acetic let go!
Work hard be friendly , Let God take care of the rest.
