It takes a certain kind of person to be good at rug repair - because it takes attention, understanding of construction, an eye for color, and the desire to learn as you go, because every rug has a different "personality" and feel.
But the ones who "get it" - get to capture a nice flow of business.
Several years ago we held the first "from ground zero" rug repair clinics are my plant in San Diego - all of which sold-out, and developed rug repair specialists still plugging away today with the service.
This past weekend my mother and I went to speak to the Weavers Guild, and it got us talking about possibly doing the courses again this year, a couple of them.
If you are interested - please post a note. This would be an intensive workshop, very small class size, and no IICRC certification or test.It would actually be learning to apply the skills into your business immediately.
I just want to test the temperature - and see if there is interest. You can post here or send me an email at rugwarrior@gmail.com.
Thanks,
Lisa
P.S. Photos of a simple repair on my latest post.
