    Rug auctions for $9.8 million.... that's GINORMOUS moolah!

    It's a beautiful piece... and shows that the investment textile industry is on the upswing... a BIG upswing.

    Pop over to the article link to WSJ at my post (I can't copy and paste the link here from my iPhone) - and it's there. All details on that and other rugs. This Persian piece was from the 1600's. We had a Turkish rug in our shop this past year from the 1700's that auctioned for $150K euro... not millions - but tribal rugs don't get the respect that city ones do. I personally love the tribal pieces more. But that's me.
