You know it is clean when the water is clear. Do you agree Lisa and what do you think of this company?

The first step they show is shampooing. I hope they are also doing an inspection and a dry soil removal step.
He talks about benefit ofcleaning by hand, but some steps are done by machine, so it seem like just a marketing thing to refer to hand cleaning.

looks like hes using cheap labor

That is a great video except - no mention of the city, the address, the phone number, the website - so how is someone to figure out if this is the company to call in their area?
We also squeegee until the water runs clear - that's what many plants do, run the hoses underneath the rug and flow the water up through the bottom to top of the fibers.
Too bad they did not pick a better quality rug for the video shot - that was a low grade Chinese rug, and did not make a very impressive shot. I also would have given my team uniforms (at least for the film) - it looks funny when everyone is casual and the owner is in a suit.
Other than that - I like this video clip more than others I've seen. But from a consumer standpoint - just before and after pictures is most important.

I like the video. Looks like they are doing a nice job.
Does cleaning by hand mean you can't use any tools. Would that rule out brooms and squeegees also? Basically no one actually cleans rugs with their hands. So when is using that expression misleading?

In my opinion, cleaning with tools including the shampoo machine or a squeegee is still cleaning by hand.
Running the rug through an automated machine is not cleaning by hand (the rinsing step in the video). He is using cleaning by hand to set himself apart from rug cleaning plants that use automated machines.

It does become kind of a thin line. For example, is using a wringer to just remove water no longer hand washing? Is using a wringer that sprays rinse water then no longer hand washing? In my opinion, if you dust, wash and thoroughly rinse with hands on tools, running it through a wringer or a centrifuge even if it adds another rinse stage would still appropriately be called hand washing.

what is the best way to ring out big rugs if you are a small time opperation. I have a 30 x 30 garage, dusty was nice and told me not to buy a rug baddger yet, Not enought rugs. but if i am vacuuming them on both sides and I use a leaf blower to shake the rug and get as much dust out. Soak the rug and use my truck mount. What is the best way to dry them quicker. I perfer to leave them on the ground, but I also have rug pully systems in my shop. But unlike the video, I only have 9 ft ceiling so the rugs are drapped over the pvc poles. So whatas a good solution for me?

Yes they are using very cheap labor. That's the hadeed way.I didn't see one none spanish person in the video. We have a lot of big cleaning companies that use very cheap labor and brag that all their employees are certified and back ground checked yeh right! I would love to open a rug cleaning company but we don't have enough of a demand for it here.
